 Kshatriya Rajput Samrat Mihir Bhoj Pratihar

Mihir Bhoj (c. 836  - 885 CE) or Bhoja 1 was a king belonging to Gurjara (Here Gurjara means present Gujarat)-Pratihar (Parihar/Padhiyar/Pratihar).
He was the son of King Ramabhadra and succeeded his father.
He belongs to Kshatriya Rajput Clan and his religion was Hinduism.
18th October is celebrated as their Jayanti. He was a devotee of Bhagwaan Vishnu and adopted the title of "Adivaraha" in some of his coins. On the reign of Emperor Mihir Bhoj India was "Sone ki Chidiya". He was the great Hindu Hriday Samrat Emperor.


During his Kingdom, the capital was Kannauj (present day Uttar Pradesh), during his kingdom Kannauj also referred as Panchala. 
He was a bitter enemy of Arab invaders. He was succeeded by his son Mahendrapala 1 (c. 836 - 910 CE).

Emperor Mihir Bhoj was a Kshatriya Rajput of Pratihara or Parihar dynasty. The original man of this branch is considered to be Lakshman, the brother of Bhagwaan Rama. Being the surname of Lakshman, Pratihar, his descendants Pratihar, later on came to be called Parihar. He is described as "Agnivanshi" of "Suryanvansh" but not any clearance about this. In some places they have been described as both "Agnivanshi" and "Suryavanshi".
The Gotra of Pratihar or Parihar clan is "Kaushal".
